At what point does convenience unwittingly train you to surrender your capability?
It has become incredibly easy to hand the smallest things to AI.
- A sentence you could have sharpened.
- A setting you could have found.
- A piece of code you could have corrected.
- A decision you already knew how to make.
You give it over. It produces something good. You change a color, redirect it twice, adjust a few words — and you tell yourself you shaped approved the result.
Sometimes you did shape it. And sometimes AI did ninety percent of the thinking, and you approved what remained. That distinction matters.
Every time you hand over something you already know how to do competently, you save ten minutes. But if it sits inside your zone of genius, you also miss ten minutes of sharpening your own intelligence — the pattern recognition, the troubleshooting, the discomfort of staying with a problem long enough to get the gem from it.

And when do I let AI handle it?
If the task is repetitive, needs to scale, or genuinely benefits from AI — let it. The point isn’t to prove you can do everything alone. It’s to stay capable of recognizing when the intelligence is wrong, incomplete, or taking you somewhere you never intended to go.
